Hi Ann-Marie,
One day Janice brought Shiloh to the office to pick me up. Our office is in the same building as Laserworks which is a photocopier supply and repair business. One of the guys who works there was talking to her. He just had to put down a GS dog due to health problems. He asked where we got our dog and I told him Grunfeld German Shepherd Kennels in the valley close to the Lookoff. He said he wants to get another dog but is not able to do the work related to the dog at this time. I recommended you for your dedication to the breed, your dogs and your general concern for the dogs and owners. I will ask him when he is ready to contact you. Seems like a great guy but I could tell he suffered the loss of a family member when he had to put his dog down. I know how he feels.
Have a great day.
Fred

The little guys are doing really well and they have made
our life more lovely. They are having lots of fun in the woods
with us. I took them to the vet for some needles today and
they we so well behaved, you guys have done a great job with
them. Thank you

Rico is an absolute dream. He loves everyone and everything.
He's a huge hit in puppy classes. One of the ladies told me
last week that she is amazed at how gentle, happy, obedient(!!?)
and sweet Rico is. She said she didn't think shepherds were
like that. Another lady said that she was going to bring her
mother next week to show her what a real shepherd is supposed
to be like. I can't think of a higher compliment to you and
your dogs. Just thought you might like to know.

HI Ann Marie:
We are home and Dakota is so happy so far. He slept most of the way home and when he was awake he sat up and found a place he could snuggle into.
We have had him out in the yard most of the afternoon. He ate one cup of food has been drinking and so responsive to the clicker.
We are so happy and I only hope that he will love us so as much as we love him. I will let you know how he makes out tonight. You are so kind and the love that you have for your dogs is so apparent. You are a wonderful role model for many.
Take Care and thanks for the information,
Fondest Regards,
Gail

Hi. As I had wrote to you a few weeks back, I had switched
Celine to the Iams Large Breed food. I had read the labels
and wondered where it contained less fat if it would help
with her weight gain since being spayed. I am not pleased
with the results of the change. She has become lethargic with
a dull coat and eyes after only a few weeks on it. I also
noticed an increase in drainage from her eyes and bad breath.
Her appetite decreased to the point where she hasn't even
been interested in her raw hide chews. At first I thought
she was coming down with something, but she has remained healthy
and energetic for the 14 months I have had her. The only difference
in this time has been the diet change. I now have her almost
completely switched back to the Ol Roy brand and I am seeing
her old self returning. She is brighter and while her coat
is still dull, I don't feel it will take long to get its shine
back.

I have been meaning to email both of you. I was recently judging at trials in Brockville and on two separate occasions, two different folks made a point of mentioning what a wonderful GSD Bill Yates has.
Thought both of you would appreciate hearing that!

Hi -
Sienna has exceeded our expectations in her transition to
a new life. Her bold and happy character has made the adjustment
into an adventure that she is welcoming. Our older dog has
guided her but her focus is on us. She has taken to a harness
and a crate but is walking close to me off lead around the
farm.
Three official names that we like are Grunfeld Sienna, Grunsfeld
Solstice, and Grunsfeld Sequel. (Grunfeld Serenade made it
onto the list at 3 a.m. but didn't stick as she went back
to sleep in the crate after a walk....)
I look forward to info re. needles and any advice / info etc.
Malcolm said to mention, that when you consider retiring Obie
perhaps you'd consider placing him with us ? We both liked
the way he looked at us and thought he was very handsome.
He would probably enjoy our life.
Thank you for breeding such a sane pup. Margot
